Columbo Seasons on DVD
Columbo Season 1
|
|
Raincoat-clad
detective Columbo (Peter Falk) is one of television's most
popular private investigators. Outwardly Columbo appears to
be a pushover, a quiet man who appears to only grasp
rudimentary facts concerning detective work. His mind is
brilliant, however, and he always appears able to ask the
one question that no one else thought to ask, leading to a
string of successful cases. Each episode of the series
features a careful deconstruction of events by the placid
cigar smoking sleuth, aiming to keep viewers second-guessing
everything until the final moments of the show. This release
offers 7 episodes from the first season, as well as two
COLUMBO TV movies. |
Columbo Season 2

The
LAPD's most clever detective returns to solve more seemingly
unsolvable murders in COLUMBO: THE COMPLETE SECOND SEASON.
Peter Falk stars as the well-known Det. Columbo, whose
disheveled appearance and lackadaisical investigations
disguise his sharp and shrewd intelligence. COLUMBO was an
unusual television program in that it was broadcast
irregularly, but each episode was either 90 or 120 minutes
long, a length more common to films than television series'.
THE COMPLETE SECOND SEASON has three of the longer episodes
and five shorter, for eight total. The episodes feature
famous guest stars as diverse as John Cassavetes, Ray
Milland, Leonard Nimoy, Julie Newmar, Martin Landau, and
many others. In addition, two of the episodes were written
by legendary television producer-writer Steven Bochco. |
Columbo Season 3

One of the most
famous detectives to ever hit the television screen, COLUMBO
(Peter Falk) has become an iconic character in popular
culture. Forever clad in a raincoat and chomping a cigar,
the disheveled Columbo seems as scatterbrained as his
appearance would suggest. However, even when it appears that
his investigation is going nowhere, Columbo's keen mind is
absorbing details and clues, until finally he reveals that
he knows everything that's happened. Each episode opens with
a murder, followed by Columbo's investigation, and finally
his revelation of how he put the events together. COLUMBO
became popular and famous for its clever dramatic structure
and Peter Falk's winning portrayal of the detective. THE
COMPLETE THIRD SEASON contains eight of the program's
lengthy episodes, featuring famous guest stars such as
Martin Sheen, Vincent Price, Johnny Cash, Donald Pleasence,
and more. |
