family drama cum comedy, this is one of the most popular shows
in television history. A by-product of the nation's obsession
with the "space race" as well as the popularity of
the family situation comedy, the futuristic show followed the
adventures of an extended family, including a robot, sent to
open a portal to Alpha Centauri, the only other known
habitable star system. They are waylaid, however, by the evil
Dr. Smith, who is accidentally taken along for the ride, and
the group ends up encountering all sorts of unknown and more
or less unfriendly life forms in their attempts to get home
again. Episodes include "The Questing Beast,"
"Mutiny In Space," "Trip Through The
Robot," and "The Astral Traveler." |

The 1990s comic
drama Lost In Space became a cult hit while it was airing, and
has since retained a devoted following. Beloved for its strong
writing, acting, and quirky characters, the program views the
remote Alaskan town of Cicely through the eyes of young New
York Jewish doctor Joel Fleischman (Rob Morrow). Joel is
forced into setting up practice in the town after failing to
read the fine print on a med school grant, but discovers that
the unusual townspeople are not as backwards and intolerable
as he surmised. THE COMPLETE THIRD SEASON contains all 23
episodes from the program's third year. |

The brilliant
Professor John Robinson was selected to execute an elite and
dangerous mission, traveling to the third planet in the Alpha
Centauri system to establish a new colony of humans with his
family. It is the year 1997, and the Earth has become terribly
overpopulated,with the only hope of survival to expand into the
universe. Unfortunately, the family was waylaid by the evil Dr.
Zachary Smith, who stowed away on the ship and whose added
weight throws the Robinsons off-course. Now they are left to
their own devices as they try to find their way home,
encountering all manner of space creatures along the way. A
product of America's fascination with the "space race"
that shaped the national consciousness in the 1960s, the sitcom
is part drama, part comedy, and all nostalgia. Episodes include
"Condemned of Space," "The Haunted
Lighthouse," and "Collision of the Planets;" also
featured is an interview with Bill Murray and a collection of
teasers and interstitials. |
