Soap Season 3

Soap opera met
situation comedy with smashing success in this farcical take
on daytime television that aired on ABC from 1977-1981.
Exaggerating its intricate, serialized plotlines and
overwrought melodrama, the show followed the exploits of two
sisters, Jessica Tate (Katherine Helmond) and Mary Campbell
(Cathryn Damon), as they navigated a complicated network of
relationships between family, friends, lovers and enemies.
Billy Crystal also had a notable role as one of the first
openly gay characters on prime time. The hilarious storyline
in the third season begins with an alien infiltration by a
race known as the Sunnies, who kidnap Mary's husband Burt;
meanwhile, Jessica must deal with her husband Chester's
philandering ways. |
